Police Commissioner Nyassi attends CSW69

Commissioner Amie Nyassi of The Gambia Police Force is currently attending the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York City.
The annual global gathering is taking place from March 10th to 21st, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This year’s CSW69 delegation from The Gambia includes First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, the Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Gender and Communication, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and representatives from various government departments and non-governmental organizations.
In a statement, the police said: “The opening ceremony was attended by the First Lady and five delegates, while other Gambian representatives are actively participating in side events alongside international counterparts. Key topics under discussion include women in leadership, gender parity, and gender-responsive budgeting.”
“As the events continue, Commissioner Nyassi and other Gambian delegates remain engaged in critical discussions aimed at advancing gender equality and empowering women in all sectors.”
