Nigeria: Delta governor’s aide dies mysteriously, husband under investigation

Mrs. Shimitte Love, Special Adviser on Trade and Export to the Governor of Delta State, has died under unclear circumstances, prompting a police investigation.

Although the cause of her death remains uncertain, suspicions have been raised about the possible involvement of her husband, Pastor Love. According to police, he was not formally arrested but taken into protective custody after reporting her death and expressing fear of retaliation from her family.

Police confirmed that Shimitte was pronounced dead at the hospital where she was taken. Following a formal complaint lodged by her family, authorities are now investigating the case. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the actual cause of death.

Law enforcement emphasized that until the autopsy results are available, it cannot be concluded whether her death was natural or the result of foul play.
