GPF gender unit receives IEC delegation on courtesy visit

On May 20, 2025, the Gambia Police Force’s Gender and Child Welfare Unit welcomed a delegation from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), led by Commissioner Haddy Sidat Jobe.

The visit aimed to introduce IEC’s newly established Gender and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Unit, headed by Mariama Jammeh.

“Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to support women and promote gender inclusion.”

“Commissioner Ramou Sambou and CMC Boto Keita reaffirmed the GPF’s commitment to future joint training and advocacy programs.”

It added: “The delegation paid a call on AIG Demba Sowe of Crime Management.”

“Both institutions expressed optimism for sustained engagement to advance gender equity and social inclusion.”
