Nigeria: Zee Studios unveils 2026/27 massive multilingual

India’s Zee Studios has announced a wide-ranging film slate for 2026-27, with projects in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. The lineup mixes big-star commercial films, action spectacles, thrillers, mythological stories and regional dramas.
The studio said the strategy is to reflect India’s diversity by backing stories across languages and genres, rather than focusing on one market.
Zee is also entering the Gujarati market with Tom and Cherry starring Siddharth Randeria and Dhanya Doshi, directed by Dharmessh Mehta.
The studio will release Silaa starring Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia Khateeb and Karanveer Mehra, directed by Omung Kumar.
Zee Studios is also collaborating with Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network for the first time on Paaltu
A Zee Studios spokesperson said the slate is built on the idea that Indian cinema needs multiple voices.
“Our portfolio strategy is driven by the belief that India cannot be represented through one kind of story, one language or one cinematic lens,” the spokesperson said. “Every market has its own audience, talent, creative ecosystem and entertainment sensibility, and our ambition is to reflect that diversity through the films we back.”
The spokesperson added that the goal is to build “an unconventional content ecosystem with differentiated storytelling” across Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and other languages.
“For us, entertainment serves as the backbone for multilingual and multi-genre cinema, blurring the geographical and colloquial boundaries.
With this slate, Zee Studios is positioning itself as a pan-India studio rather than a Hindi-first banner. By pairing established stars like Sunny Deol, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nayanthara with regional filmmakers and new talent, the studio is aiming for both theatrical reach and streaming appeal.
The 2026-27 lineup covers action, mythology, thriller, family drama and comedy, giving Zee a presence in nearly every major Indian film market.
Production timelines for individual films have not been announced yet, but several projects are expected to start shooting later this year.
