Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of three children were discovered at a residence in Ideani community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A fourth person found at the property was reportedly alive and has been taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. The bodies of the deceased children have been moved to a mortuary.
The children, believed to be between the ages of six and 15, have not yet been identified. Authorities have also not confirmed the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Residents said the house belongs to a woman who is known in the community and is also involved in livestock farming. However, officials have not verified claims about the relationship between the woman and the children.
The woman has been taken into police custody and is being held at the Ogidi Police Division as investigators continue to examine the case.
Videos shared on social media showed security operatives at the residence following the discovery, with the woman being escorted away by police officers.
Authorities are expected to provide more information as investigations progress.
