By Zuleihat Owuiye, Nigeria

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has criticised social media users judging fashion entrepreneur Evelyn Cute following reports of her disappearance, urging Nigerians to show understanding instead of focusing on negative reactions.

The actress spoke out after Evelyn, whose real name is Onyema Evelyn and who is the founder of 44 Clothing, was reportedly found alive following concerns about her whereabouts.

Reacting to the development, Nkechi expressed relief that the fashion entrepreneur was safe while questioning the attitude of people who appeared more interested in hearing bad news about her than celebrating her safety.

In a social media post, the actress suggested that people should be more compassionate towards Evelyn, noting that love can sometimes lead people to make decisions others may find difficult to understand.

“The closest thing to madness na love. If I tell Una wetin I don do because of love, una go gather hand beat me,” she wrote.

Nkechi’s statement appeared to draw from her personal experiences with love and relationships, suggesting that people who have never found themselves in similar situations should be careful about judging others.

She subsequently urged Nigerians to give Evelyn some breathing space rather than subjecting her to criticism over the incident.

The actress also indicated that some people seemed to have been waiting for negative news about the fashion entrepreneur instead of genuinely hoping for her safe return.

Beyond defending Evelyn against online criticism, Nkechi made it clear that the reported disappearance had left her worried.

Congratulating the entrepreneur on being found safe, the actress combined her relief with a playful warning, reflecting the concern she had felt throughout the incident.

“@evelyncute thank God you are safe, but I go still beat craze comot your head if I see you sha,” she wrote.

She ended her message by revealing how much the situation had unsettled her, adding, “No be small panic attack you give me.”

Her remarks suggested that the incident had caused considerable anxiety among people concerned about Evelyn’s wellbeing.

Although Nkechi used humour in addressing the entrepreneur, her central message focused on the importance of compassion and avoiding premature judgement when the full circumstances surrounding a situation are not known.

The incident surrounding Evelyn Cute has drawn attention to the way social media users respond when public figures or familiar personalities become the subject of worrying reports.

While some people may seek explanations when such incidents occur, Nkechi’s reaction highlights the need to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of those involved before rushing to conclusions.

The actress’s comments also suggest that personal experiences, particularly those involving love, can influence people’s decisions in ways outsiders may not fully understand.

By sharing her own perspective, Nkechi encouraged Nigerians to exercise restraint and allow Evelyn room to deal with the situation without unnecessary public pressure.

Evelyn, the founder of 44 Clothing, was reportedly found alive following the concerns over her whereabouts. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident were not fully detailed in the available report.

Nkechi’s intervention ultimately centred on relief that Evelyn was safe and a call for people to show more understanding rather than judge her based on incomplete information.
