Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod has finally opened up about his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife, months after reports of trouble in their marriage made headlines.

The actor addressed the development during an interview with YouTuber Kasnasty Sugar, where he was asked to explain what led to the breakdown of his relationship with Desola.

The couple’s marital crisis became a subject of public discussion in February 2026 after reports emerged that Desola had allegedly moved her belongings out of their matrimonial home.

At the time, neither Kunle nor his wife publicly provided details about the situation, leaving fans and followers speculating about the reasons behind their reported separation.

However, the actor has now broken his silence, offering an explanation that touched on jealousy, alleged infidelity, sexual expectations and the demands of his entertainment career.

During the interview, Afod initially suggested that his demanding profession sometimes makes it difficult for him to devote sufficient attention to his family.

According to him, the nature of his work can become overwhelming, leaving him with limited time for activities at home.

He said, “This job is heavy to the extent that we sometimes don’t have time for our home.”

The actor subsequently made comments about relationships, suggesting that jealousy and suspicions of unfaithfulness could contribute to marital disagreements.

While addressing women during the conversation, he argued that some partners have different standards when it comes to issues surrounding sexual behaviour and fidelity.

Afod also raised concerns about the use of sex toys in relationships, questioning why some women who use such products might react negatively if their husbands engage in similar activities.

He specifically mentioned dildos, arguing that their use could also raise questions about faithfulness and sexual satisfaction within marriage.

The actor further suggested that friendships between women could sometimes become a source of suspicion for their male partners, claiming that husbands might become uncomfortable when their wives develop particularly close relationships with female friends.

His remarks formed part of a broader argument about trust, jealousy and what he described as unequal expectations between men and women in relationships.

Although Afod offered these explanations, he did not provide specific details about the incidents that allegedly contributed to the end of his marriage. He also did not directly establish whether infidelity was responsible for the couple’s separation.

His comments have brought renewed attention to his relationship with Desola, particularly because the former couple had largely remained silent about their marital difficulties since the reports first emerged.

The full circumstances surrounding their separation remain unclear, as Desola has yet to publicly respond to the actor’s latest comments in the interview.

The interview has also generated interest because it represents one of Afod’s most direct public discussions about the issues surrounding his marriage.
