Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has reportedly died, sparking reactions from colleagues and public figures who expressed concern and called for divine intervention.
The news of his reported death was made public on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, by Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA).
Olajengbesi expressed deep sadness over the development, lamenting the increasing reports of young Nigerians losing their lives. In an Instagram post accompanying a photograph of the singer, he appealed to God for mercy.
He wrote, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.
“I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us.”
Olajengbesi also declared his opposition to premature deaths, stressing the need for divine intervention amid concerns over the loss of young lives.
The announcement generated emotional reactions from members of the gospel music community, with some expressing hope that the situation could still take a different turn.
Popular Christian comedian Woli Agba reacted to the development by urging people not to give up hope, saying prayers were still being offered for a miracle.
In a message shared on his social media page, he wrote, “Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please.”
Gospel singer Boyebest also responded in the comments section, expressing his faith that God could intervene.
The reactions followed reports about Toluwanisings’ death that began circulating on social media approximately two hours before the subsequent responses.
However, details surrounding the singer’s reported death, including the circumstances that led to it, had not been made public as of the time of this report.
The development has left fans and colleagues concerned as they await further information about the gospel singer.
