Nigeria: Carabao Cup fourth round draw: Liverpool face Chelsea as Arsenal travel to Fleetwood
By Zuleihat Owuiye, Nigeria
Liverpool will face Chelsea in a heavyweight clash in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, with the Blues set to travel to Anfield for the tie.
The encounter will see Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso return to Liverpool, where he spent several years as a player.
Premier League champions Arsenal have also been handed an away fixture against League Two side Fleetwood Town.
Fleetwood, the lowest-ranked club left in the competition, reached the last 16 for the first time in their history after defeating Sheffield United 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Their reward is a home meeting with Arsenal, who secured their fourth-round place with a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town on Tuesday.
Defending champions Manchester City could face Brighton at the Etihad Stadium, although they must first overcome Norwich City in their outstanding third-round match on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Bradford City will take on Peterborough United in an all-League One encounter after both clubs eliminated Leyton Orient and Barnsley respectively.
The other ties will feature Premier League teams. Fulham will host Crystal Palace, while Bournemouth will welcome Aston Villa.
Sunderland have been drawn at home against Brentford, while Everton will entertain Newcastle United.
The fourth-round matches are scheduled to take place during the week beginning October 26.
