The widow of late Bamidele Akingboye, Christy Akingboye, has broken her silence, denying allegations that she was involved in her husband’s death. She revealed that her husband had struggled with bipolar manic disorder for five years, which led to multiple episodes of severe mania, suicidal tendencies, and erratic behavior.

Christy stated that the illness worsened due to her husband’s political engagements, financial struggles, and sleepless nights. She shared that he had attempted suicide previously and that she had stood by him throughout his struggles.

She accused her stepson, Samuel Akingboye, of spreading false allegations and blackmailing her, creating doctored photographs to support his claims. Christy displayed mortuary photographs showing her husband without bruises or injuries, contradicting the circulated claims.

Christy urged authorities to focus on her late husband’s medical records and mental health struggles, calling for a fair and thorough investigation to clear her name.
