Nigeria: Adeleke travels to US for Davido’s wedding

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has traveled to the United States to attend the wedding ceremony of his nephew, music star Davido, and his wife Chioma Avril Rowland. The wedding is scheduled to take place in Miami, Florida, in August 2025.

Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the trip, extending an invitation to the opposition party to attend the event and share in the joy with the Adeleke family. Those unable to attend can join virtually. Rasheed noted that Adeleke has not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022 and emphasized that this trip will be short.

The governor’s absence has sparked concerns, with the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) questioning his whereabouts and accusing him of leaving the state without informing residents or formally transmitting power to his deputy. However, Rasheed assured that Adeleke is in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is supervising government activities.

This trip marks another opportunity for Governor Adeleke to celebrate with his family, following his notable dance moves at Davido’s earlier wedding ceremony in August 2025 which captivated guests and dignitaries alike.
