I am with Dr Lamin Manneh

It is indeed scandalous that a finance minister of a country would claim ignorance of a financial transaction of that country. Even if it was not initiated and concluded during your tenure, you must have found the files there to review and know so that you can give a succinct explanation of the deal.

But here is our finance minister speaking about the sale of Mega Bank with a nonchalant tone and demeanor.

I totally agree with Dr. Lamin Manneh in his detailed analysis that shows glaringly that the Government sold Mega Bank for a chicken change. As he said that bank should have fetched nothing less than 2.5 billion for Gambians!

The Finance and Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly should re-open this matter because it is obvious that fraud and negligence were involved. The failure of the Ministry of Finance to carry out a proper due diligence for such a national asset only manifests that there were other motives!

We cannot have a government and its officials who toy with the very sovereign wealth and destiny of our nation. Somebody must be held accountable!
