Gambia women’s 4x100m relay team ready to shine at Glasgow 2026

Banjul The Gambia, June 2, 2026 – Following the withdrawal of Maimuna Jallow, promising sprinter Haddy Jarju has earned her first-ever call-up to represent The Gambia at a major multi-sport Games, marking a significant milestone in her athletics career.

Meanwhile, Sirreh Sanneh joins the squad as a reserve athlete for the women’s relay team and will also compete in the Women’s Long Jump event.

The updated selections further strengthen Team Gambia’s preparations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will take place from 23 July to 2 August 2026 in Glasgow.

With a blend of experience and emerging talent, the women’s relay team will be aiming to make a strong impression against some of the Commonwealth’s best athletes.
