Gambia U18 girls selected for 2nd African Beach Volleyball Youth Development Cup

Banjul The Gambia, May 13, 2026 – The Gambia has been officially nominated to participate in the 2nd African Beach Volleyball Youth Development Cup scheduled to take place in Dakar, Senegal from 8th to 14th August 2026.
The tournament follows the successful hosting of the inaugural edition in Banjul, The Gambia, last year and forms part of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) strategic objective to strengthen the preparation and performance of African youth teams ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in November.
The Gambia earned nomination in the girls’ category alongside host Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
In the boys’ division, participating nations include Senegal, Morocco, DR Congo, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Namibia, and South Africa.
The championship is expected to bring together some of Africa’s most promising young beach volleyball talents and further promote youth development within the sport.
