Farafenni Youth Centre Inaugurated

The National Youth Council (NYC) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Friday inaugurated the Farafenni Youth Centre.
The center will serve as a place to empower young people of the region.
The youth centre will be used to learn skills, network, embrace development and leadership as well as to hold youth events.
The inauguration was attended by Hon Bakary Y. Badjie, Minister of Youth & Sports, National Youth Council (NYC) executive director, youth leaders, among others.
The ceremony was funded by the Ministry in collaboration with key partners including European Union in The Gambia, International Trade Centre, Enabel and IMVF.
Representing President Adama Barrow, Governor Lamin Saidykhan highlighted the importance of the centre in providing youth with opportunities for skill-building, job access, and personal development.
Pa Modou Gaye, North Bank Region (NBR) regional youth committee member urged young people to take ownership of the centre, ensuring its continued growth and sustainability.
Ida Jatta, chairperson of the National Youth Council, reaffirmed the centre’s role in fostering innovation and youth leadership.
Enrica Pellacani of the EU described the centre as a space for youth to connect, grow, and contribute to the country’s development. She urged the youth to make the most of the opportunity and work towards a prosperous future.
The Farafenni Youth Centre is a beacon of hope, providing a platform for skill development, networking, and leadership.
