Champions Barcelona kept their title challenge alive with a convincing 3-0 win over Getafe at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. Ferran Torres scored twice in the first half, while Dani Olmo added a third after the break.
Torres opened the scoring with a powerful finish after Dani Olmo’s clever backheel assist. He doubled his tally just before halftime with a beautifully placed long-range strike, assisted by Raphinha.
The Catalan side dominated possession and created numerous chances, with Getafe struggling to threaten their opponents. Barcelona’s expected goals (xG) of 1.91 dwarfed Getafe’s meager 0.27, reflecting the gulf in class between the two teams.
Rashford, who replaced Raphinha at halftime, created Barcelona’s third goal with a precise pass to Olmo, who finished calmly. The English forward also came close to scoring his first league goal for Barca but was denied by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria’s impressive saves.
“A lot of the time, they don’t try to do anything apart from too many fouls, in my opinion, but we managed it well… and the important thing is we got the three points.”
