Fear gripped Gidan Turbe village in Tsafe, Zamfara State, on Monday morning when armed men stormed a mosque during dawn prayers and abducted about 40 worshippers. The attackers surrounded the mosque around 5:30 a.m. and whisked their captives into the nearby forests, leaving families and loved ones in anguish.

The abduction has shaken the community and renewed concerns about the safety of residents in the region, where peace efforts continue to face serious challenges. Many villagers are now living in fear, uncertain about when or if their relatives will return.

Meanwhile, soldiers have been battling to contain multiple attacks across Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara. In separate encounters, troops repelled ambushes, engaged fleeing terrorists, and rescued civilians, though casualties were recorded among both soldiers and security officers. Military operations in the North-West remain ongoing, as efforts to curb the violence continue.
