Nigeria: Rivers State Police arrest seven suspects linked to lawyer’s murder

Rivers State Police Command has arrested seven suspects linked to the murder of lawyer Bright Owhor, who was killed this month, August, 2025, along the Market Road in Rumuomasi. The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit tracked the culprits through intelligence and technical surveillance over 10 days.
The suspects, who have confessed to the crime, include Prince Samuel, Daniel Godwin, Henry Peter, Godfrey Emmanuel (gang leader), Chukwu Nneji, Justice Dimkpa, and Promise Wikere. They allegedly belong to the Deygbam Secret Cult Group and admitted to roles in Owhor’s murder, withdrawing funds from his account, and recent cult-related violence in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
