Nigeria: Nigeria’s oil output rises by 4% to 1.737M BPD in February

Nigeria’s crude oil production, including condensates, increased by 4% month-on-month to 1.737 million barrels per day (bpd) in febuary 2025, up from 1.667 million bpd in December 2025. This growth also represents a 5.7% year-on-year increase, compared to 1.643 million bpd in January 2025
According to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the daily average production in January was 1.737 million bpd, comprising both crude oil (1,538,697 bpd) and condensate (198,783 bpd) ². The average crude oil production was 103% of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quota of 1.5 million bpd.
While Nigeria met the OPEC target, it fell short of the budget 2025 benchmark of 2.06 million bpd, based on an oil price of $75 per barrel. However, the country’s oil output, excluding condensate, increased by 6.3% month-on-month to 1.539 million bpd in January 2025, and by 7.8% year-on-year.
