11 buses burned at GTSC depot

The Gambia Police Force (GPF) have confirmed that 11 buses have been burned and four others partially damaged during the fire outbreak that occurred on Saturday 1st February 2025 at the Gambia Transport Service Company (GTSC) Depot in Kanifing.
A release from the Gambia Police Force indicated that the fire at the GTSC Depot resulted from sparks caused by a scrap metal dealer using a grinder on a scrapped bus around 13:00hrs.
“The fire spread through dry grass, leading to 11 buses completely burnt and 4 partially damaged. All affected buses had already been auctioned as scrap,” said the GPF.
“The Fire Service extinguished the blaze, and the scene was visited by CID and CSI for further investigation,” it added.
