Nigeria: Arsenal ends 22-year wait, crowned Premier League champions

Arsenal has ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title, securing the championship after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta’s team, who had led the league for most of the season, sealed the title with a 1-0 win over Burnley on Monday, putting them five points clear of City with one game left.

City, who needed a win to keep the title race alive, were held by Bournemouth, who secured European football for the first time in their history. Erling Haaland’s late equalizer couldn’t save City’s title hopes, and Pep Guardiola’s team will now focus on his potential final match in charge.

Arsenal’s triumph marks their first Premier League title since 2004, ending a six-year trophy drought. The Gunners have bounced back impressively since losing to City last month, winning four straight league matches without conceding a goal.

The victory also sets up a thrilling final day, with Liverpool and Bournemouth battling for Champions League qualification.
