Nigeria: Osimhen faces legal worsening over unpaid car debt

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is facing a potential lawsuit from German automaker Mercedes-Benz over an alleged unpaid debt of €90,000 (approximately ₦142 million) for a leased vehicle. The company has reportedly filed a complaint with the Italian Carabinieri, claiming Osimhen failed to complete payments for the vehicle and hasn’t returned it.
Osimhen’s representatives haven’t released an official statement yet. The striker’s annual salary at Galatasaray is reportedly over €20 million, making the alleged debt seem minor in comparison. However, the situation could tarnish his reputation and philanthropic image.
The Nigerian football star has been known for his luxury lifestyle, showcasing his collection of high-end vehicles, including Lamborghinis and a Rolls-Royce. This isn’t the first time Osimhen’s finances have come under scrutiny, but resolving this issue quickly would likely be a priority to protect his reputation and focus on his football career.
