The United States Government has released a global security alert for its citizens in Nigeria and worldwide, following rising tensions between Washington and Tehran. The advisory, issued by the State Department, urges Americans to remain vigilant due to recent US military operations targeting Iran.

The alert warns of possible travel disruptions, including airspace closures.

US citizens are advised to exercise increased caution and monitor updates from the nearest US embassy or consulate.

The State Department recommends signing up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for security updates.

The alert follows coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, reportedly killing Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior officials.

Iran’s leadership has allegedly agreed to return to negotiations with the US, according to President Donald Trump.

The conflict has resulted in over 200 deaths and 700 injuries, with regional observers estimating higher casualties.
