US Embassy Regional Security Officer calls on IGP Touray

On August 21, 2025 the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Seedy Mukhtar Touray received Mr. Mathew R. Hilton, the Regional Security Officer (RSO) of the United States Embassy in Banjul, on a courtesy call at Police Headquarters, police said.
“Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between The Gambia Police Force and the US Embassy, particularly in capacity building, security collaboration, and advancing bilateral relations.”
“Mr. Hilton expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet with IGP Touray and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting the GPF in its mandate to maintain peace and security,” it said.
It added: “Deputy Inspector General of Police, Demba Sowe, welcomed Mr. Hilton and emphasized the importance of sustaining the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.”
“In his remarks, IGP Touray warmly welcomed Mr. Hilton, assuring him of the GPF’s readiness to deepen cooperation and further strengthen bilateral ties.”
“The meeting concluded with mutual assurances to build on the solid foundation of collaboration between the GPF and the US Embassy.”
