Qatar: Qatar calls for global action against Israel ahead of Emergency Summit

Qatar’s Prime Minister has urged the world to put an end to “double standards” and hold Israel accountable, speaking just before an emergency meeting of Arab and Islamic leaders in Doha.
The gathering comes in response to a deadly Israeli airstrike in the Qatari capital that targeted Hamas officials — a rare attack by one US ally on the soil of another. The strike has drawn widespread criticism and heightened tensions in the region.
Even the United States, while condemning the scale of the strike, showed support for Israel by sending its Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to Tel Aviv.
At Sunday’s preparatory session, Qatar’s premier Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani declared that Israel’s “war of extermination” in Gaza would fail. He insisted the international community must act decisively and hold Israel responsible for the humanitarian crisis and the ongoing destruction.
The emergency summit, scheduled for Monday, is expected to showcase a rare display of unity among Arab and Islamic nations, as pressure mounts on Israel to end the war and address the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.
