By Zuleihat Owuiye, Mamos Nigeria
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Turaki, has rejected the Court of Appeal’s judgment nullifying the party’s national convention held in November 2025. The faction has instructed its lawyers to appeal the ruling at the Supreme Court
Spokesperson Ini Ememobong stated that implementing the judgment would cause significant hardship for party members, and the faction believes the Supreme Court will resolve the dispute in the interest of democracy. Ememobong urged party members to remain united, assuring them the legal dispute will soon be resolved
The Court of Appeal had nullified the PDP convention with a majority of delegates present and voting. The Turaki-led faction is seeking a final determination from the Supreme Court.
