Nigeria: Troops repel terrorist drone attack in Borno, rescues kidnapped victim

The Nigerian Army has successfully repelled a terrorist drone attack on their position at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai in Delwa village, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. According to a credible source at Army Headquarters, the incident occurred on December 16, with terrorists deploying four armed drones carrying explosives. The troops were able to neutralize the drones, and exploitation is ongoing to trace the launch point and neutralize the perpetrators.

In a related development, troops conducting Operation Safe Haven (OPEP) raided criminal hideouts and an illegal mining site at Rafin Bauna and Gero mountains in Plateau State on December 16, arresting three suspects. Recovered items include a fabricated rifle, ammunition, a generator, and other equipment.

Additionally, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) rescued a kidnapped victim at Yelewata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The victim, abducted from his shop in Gidan Waya, Nasarawa State on December 14, was abandoned by kidnappers upon sighting troops.
