Nigeria: Tragedy strikes Kano village as 17-year-old boy drowns in pond

A heartbreaking incident occurred in Dandalama village, Kano State, Nigeria, where a 17-year-old boy named Lurwanu Suleiman lost his life after drowning in an open water pond. The incident took place on a Tuesday afternoon, and the authorities were notified promptly.

The Kano State Fire Service received an emergency call at 12:54 p.m. and swiftly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. Unfortunately, upon arrival, they found Suleiman lifeless in the water. His body was subsequently handed over to the Ward Head of Dandalama village, Alhaji Safiyan Usman.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation. The authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

The loss of young Lurwanu Suleiman is a stark reminder of the importance of water safety and vigilance. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
