A gruesome incident has occurred in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, where a 26-year-old man, Daniel, allegedly beheaded his 15-year-old brother, Emmanuel, for ritual purposes. The victims were sons of a senior police officer serving in the community. In a shocking turn of events, irate youths in the area lynched Daniel after discovering the horrific act.

According to eyewitnesses, Daniel lured Emmanuel to the banks of the Origbara River, a secluded area in the community, where he carried out the heinous act. A local resident, Roland Akinkunmi, recounted that a passerby saw Daniel trying to conceal a human head in a black bag, leading to his arrest and subsequent lynching by the youths.

The incident has plunged the agrarian community into shock and mourning, with many struggling to come to terms with the brutality of the crime. While the two siblings had reportedly argued earlier in the day, the motive behind the murder appears to go beyond a simple quarrel. The community is devastated, and residents are calling for justice.

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the incident and ordered an immediate investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further and discreet investigation. The police command has assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in solving the case.
