Nigeria: Three suspected kidnappers killed in gun duel with security

Three suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun duel with security operatives in Oyo State, Nigeria. The incident occurred in Otu, the headquarters of the Itesiwaju Local Government Area, after the kidnappers invaded the community and abducted one resident. Local farmers spotted the intruders and raised an alarm, prompting the security operatives to respond promptly.
Operatives engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, killing three, one kidnapper escaped with the abducted victim.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing assailant and rescue the kidnapped individual
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for comment at the time of reporting. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.
