The Borno State Police Command has successfully removed and detonated two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by insurgents along the Ngwaom–Mafa Road, a critical route in the state.
The explosives were discovered during a post-attack assessment visit by Governor Babagana Zulum, Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid, and senior military officers to Mafa and Dikwa Local Government Areas on October 22–24, 2025.
The controlled detonation prevented harm to security personnel and commuters.
Abdulmajid commended the police, military, and other agencies for their gallantry, vigilance, and professionalism.”
The police command appreciates the leadership of Governor Zulum and the synergy with security agencies in maintaining peace,” said ASP Nahum Daso, Police Spokesman.
The move underscores Nigeria’s efforts to combat terrorism, even as 50 terrorists were killed in recent operations in Borno and Yobe. The public is urged to report suspicious objects to authorities.
