Nigeria: Police arrest two men with three human skulls in Ogun State

Police in Ogun State have arrested two men after discovering three human skulls during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Ijebu area.
According to police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola, mobile police officers from the 71 PMF unit in Awa Ijebu stopped a motorcycle rider, Kadir Owolabi, along the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu, on Monday, August 11, 2025. A search of his luggage revealed the skulls.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect, 53-year-old Jamiu Yisa, near the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case for a discreet probe. The command assured the public of confidentiality for anyone providing information to aid investigations.
