The Oyo State Government, in collaboration with Pacesetter Transport Services and the alumniassociation of Ajayi Crowther University, has launched a subsidized return transport scheme for students traveling from Oyo to Ibadan and Lagos. This initiative aims to enhance the mobility of students and ease their travel burden.
The scheme provides affordable transport services for students returning home, with key drop-off points at Moniya Train Station in Ibadan, Oshodi Terminal, and Ojota Terminal in Lagos. The initiative is a result of collaboration between the Oyo State Government, Pacesetter Transport Services, and the alumni association of Ajayi Crowther University.
Global Alumni President, Busoye Ogunlade, described the initiative as a fulfillment of the promises made by the alumni body.
The scheme is expected to ease the travel burden on students, making it easier for them to commute between their homes and the university.
The initiative reinforces the bridge between town and gown, showcasing how alumni engagement and government collaboration can yield tangible benefits for the younger generation.
Ogunlade noted that the alumni are committed to attracting opportunities and partnerships to support the institution and its students.
He described the transport initiative as one of the many impactful projects in the pipeline, aimed at supporting the university community.
