Nigeria: Ondo APC Exco endorses president Tinubu

The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. The decision was taken at a meeting in Akure, the state capital, convened by the party’s state chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin.

In the session, party leaders reviewed the Tinubu administration’s policies on the economy, political stability and security. The endorsement was moved by the State Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Festus Aregbesola, and seconded by the Ose Local Government party chairman, Chief Victor Tenabe. Both urged members to work wholeheartedly for the “renewed hope” agenda, with the aim of delivering the highest vote share for the APC in the 2027 polls.

Ondo State had already recorded one of the strongest showings for the Tinubu‑Shettima ticket in the 2023 general elections, and the APC remains the dominant party in the state. Recent months have seen a number of opposition figures defect to the ruling party, citing the performance of President Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as decisive factors.

The endorsement underscores the APC’s confidence in Tinubu’s leadership as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle. Party officials expect the move to galvanize supporters and consolidate the APC’s position ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
