Nigeria: Ogun Police arrest suspected cult member with firearms

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 40-year-old man, Ahmed Onanuga, for unlawful possession of firearms in the Onileowo community, Shagamu Local Government Area. Onanuga was found with firearms after being accused of stealing items worth N16 million

According to Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesman, Onanuga revealed his affiliation with the Eiye Confraternity during interrogation, admitting to being a member.

The suspect, however, denied the theft allegations. police recovered several items from Onanuga’s residence, including

One English pump action

One double barrel gun

One live cartridge

Two cutlasses

One large plier

One small knife

The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, upon completion of the preliminary investigation.
