The newly appointed Nigerian service chiefs arrived at the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, to face Senate scrutiny. Accompanied by senior military officers, they were sighted at the complex around 10 a.m.marking a pivotal step in President Bola Tinubu’s push to revamp the country’s security architecture.

The Senate rescheduled the screening from next week to today, following a letter from Tinubu urging swift confirmation. Senate President Godswill Akpabio emphasized the need for urgency: To allow the new chiefs to assume duty without delay.

The outgoing chiefs faced criticism while in office despite operational gains. Tinubu’s administration prioritizes inter-agency collaboration and efficiency.
