Senator Ned Nwoko has attributed the recent tension in his marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels to her “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” This statement comes after a viral video showed Regina appearing distressed, alleging violence in their marriage. In the clip, she tearfully says, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”

The video sparked public concern, prompting Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman (Sammy West), to vow to defend her on Instagram: “Anywhere a man beats a woman, whether it’s my sister or not, I’ll fight with my blood.”

Senator Nwoko took to X (formerly Twitter) to deny the domestic violence allegations, shifting blame to Regina’s substance abuse. “Regina wasn’t always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol is the root of our problem. She must continue rehabilitation, or I fear for her life and safety,” he wrote. He claims he offered her treatment in Asokoro or Jordan to limit her access to drugs, but she refused.

Nwoko also accused Regina of recent violence: “She slapped and hit three staff in 48 hours, destroyed cars, and windows for no reason.” He named two alleged suppliers—Sammy (her brother) and “Ann”—as enablers of her addiction. “I have other wives, and none accuse me of violence,” he added.

Regina Daniels, 25, rose to fame as a child actress and married Nwoko (63) in 2019. Their 40-year age gap has long drawn scrutiny. The couple has two children together.

The controversy highlights deeper issues of domestic abuse, substance dependency, and media scrutiny in Nigeria’s celebrity culture. The truth remains unclear as both sides trade accusations.
