Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has expressed confidence in Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, suggesting he could play a crucial role in the team’s upcoming 2025/26 campaign. Despite Dele-Bashiru’s limited game time last season, Sarri believes the 25-year-old has the potential to thrive under his guidance.

Dele-Bashiru’s future at Lazio had been uncertain following a difficult debut season, but Sarri’s endorsement makes it unlikely that he will leave the club this summer. The midfielder has been training with the rest of the Lazio squad as they prepare for the new season and adapt to Sarri’s tactical methods.

Lazio has several friendlies lined up against top teams, including Avellino, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Burnley, and Atromitos, as part of their pre-season preparations. The team will begin their Serie A campaign on August 24th with a tough away fixture against Como.

Sarri described Dele-Bashiru as a “very strong guy” who could make a significant contribution to the team if he learns a few moves. The coach’s confidence in Dele-Bashiru suggests that the midfielder will have opportunities to prove himself in the upcoming season.

With Sarri’s backing, Dele-Bashiru is poised to play a key role in Lazio’s 2025/26 campaign. The team’s pre-season preparations and upcoming fixtures will be crucial in determining their success in the new season.
