Nigeria: Late Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to be buried on January 30th

The burial of the late Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, is scheduled for January 30, 2026. Governor Douye Diri announced this during a state executive council meeting in Yenagoa, outlining a four-day funeral programme.

The programme includes sporting activities on January 27, a Day of Tributes on January 28, and special valedictory sessions at the state High Court and Executive Council Chambers on January 29. The requiem mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Ofoni community, followed by interment on January 30.

A funeral committee, headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimbofa Ayawe, worked with the family and church to plan the event.
