The Lagos State Taskforce has arrested three suspected fake naval officers, including James K. Robert, posing as a Captain, for impersonating military personnel and obstructing government operations. They were arrested after attempting to intimidate residents and evade enforcement during a demolition exercise at Oworonshoki, Lagos.

Chief Superintendent of Police Adetayo Akerele, Taskforce Chairman, revealed the suspects used fake identities to defraud the public and secure undue advantages. Robert had visited the Taskforce office, claiming ownership of a car lot at the demolition site and demanding it be spared. When denied, he became aggressive and threatened confrontation

The Naval Police Unit confirmed Robert wasn’t a serving officer, leading to his arrest and accomplices’ detention. The suspects will face prosecution, serving as a deterrent to others impersonating security personnel.
