Lagos, Feb 16, 2026 – The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, has opened a full investigation into the sudden deaths of two Nollywood production crew members found lifeless inside a parked car on a film set in Lekki Phase 1.
The victims, Godstime Imeh 38, lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, and Walter Odediran 36, creative video director known as “Director Carrinqton,” were discovered on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, inside Imeh’s tinted Nissan. The film, directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate Boma was being shot at a medical scene location at Evercare Hospital.
According to sources, Imeh and Odediran arrived early to set up lighting equipment. After finishing around mid‑morning, they rested in the car with the air‑conditioning running while awaiting further instructions. At about 11 a.m., a crew member delivered breakfast (yam and omelette). Both men were last seen reclining in the vehicle. By noon, calls to their phones went unanswered, and later that evening colleagues found them motionless—Odediran upright with foam at his mouth, Imeh slumped with blood from his nose, eyes, and mouth.
Kola Odediran, Walter’s elder brother, described the scene and expressed frustration with the initial police response at Maroko Police Station, prompting the case’s transfer to SCID, Yaba, where it was logged as an “unnatural death” requiring autopsy and further investigation. Police have since questioned the film’s producer, the food vendor who delivered the meal, a staff member who served the food, and hospital management. The food vendor remains in custody.
Investigators are examining several possible causes, including environmental factors, ingestion of toxic substances, and mechanical issues—notably the presence of heavy‑duty industrial generators above the parking area. Forensic work, including autopsy, toxicology, vehicle inspection, and CCTV review, is underway.
“It has been very difficult for our family. My mother is devastated. He was the last‑born. We were just two male children. This has been extremely painful for us,” Kola Odediran said.
Authorities say all possibilities remain open pending laboratory results and that they are committed to uncovering the exact cause of death.
