Nigeria: Kwara State Police rescues kidnapped victim, arrests 2 suspects

The Kwara State Police Command successfully rescued Sule Saidu, an abducted victim, who was kidnapped at Ahuro Fulani Camp in Ifelodun Local Government Area. Two key suspects were arrested, and firearms were recovered in the swift operation carried out on Saturday. Saidu was kidnapped by five armed men on Friday night, and a joint security team, including police detectives, hunters, and vigilantes, launched a rescue operation promptly.
The operation resulted in the interception of the gang in the Babanla/Oreke area, leading to a gun duel where one abductor was neutralized, two were arrested, and two escaped. The arrested suspects were named Ibrahim Shehu and Mohammad Lawal, with one AK-47 rifle and criminal charms recovered. The injured suspects succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital.
The Kwara State Police Command commended the bravery and quick response of its officers, as well as the efforts of local hunters and vigilante groups in enhancing security and ensuring the safety of residents. The CP urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
