Nigeria: Gunmen kill two in Gombe State, abduct four others

Gunmen have attacked a village in Gombe State, killing two siblings and abducting four others. The victims, Yusuf Mohammed, 31, and Faiza Mohammed, 28, were shot dead in their home in Pindiga village, Akko Local Government Area. Their 16-year-old sister, Zainab Mohammed Yusuf, was among those abducted. The gunmen also took Jummai Alhaji Yayaji, 35, and two children, Al’amin Alhaji Yayaji, 11, and Fatima Abdullahi, 14, from another residence.
The Gombe State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that six empty AK-47 shells and one live round of ammunition were recovered from the scene. Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has condemned the attack, describing it as “barbaric, cruel and utterly unacceptable”. The police and other security agencies are working to rescue the abducted victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
