Nigeria: Gombe Police arrest 2 suspects for housebreaking, theft

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended two individuals, Ibrahim Umar and Usman Abdullahi, for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing valuables worth ₦3,200,570. The suspects were arrested on February 12, 2025, following an investigation into a complaint filed by the homeowner, Abdulbasid Haruna.

According to the police, the suspects broke into Haruna’s house on February 3, 2025, at around 1:00 am, making off with laptops, mobile phones, and other valuables. The police employed technological means to track down the stolen devices, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

During the investigation, the police recovered all the stolen items, which had been sold for ₦80,000. The suspects confessed to committing the crime. The police are still searching for a third suspect, Ibrahim Danmariya, believed to be the receiver of the stolen goods.

The police urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. They assured the public that all information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
