Lagos, Feb 17, 2026 — Dangote Group has entered into a $400 million construction‑equipment agreement with China’s XCMG Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. to accelerate the expansion of its petroleum refinery and petrochemical complex. The deal will boost the refinery’s capacity from 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 1.4 million bpd, positioning it as the world’s largest refinery.

Under the agreement, Dangote will acquire a broad range of advanced construction machinery to support ongoing and upcoming projects across refining, petrochemicals, agriculture, and large‑scale infrastructure. The new equipment will complement existing assets and help complete the refinery expansion within three years.

In a statement, Dangote described the partnership as a “strategic investment to deepen our construction footprint and accelerate our ambition to build a $100 billion enterprise by 2030.” The company added that the new equipment will “significantly enhance execution across our projects” and help it become “the number one construction company in the world.”

The group is currently accelerating expansion and regional market development as it works toward its long‑term $100 billion target.
