A storey building under construction at Idi-Araba in Mushin, Lagos State, collapsed on Sunday afternoon, trapping an unspecified number of people beneath the debris. One male adult has been rescued, while efforts are ongoing to reach others still trapped.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, led by spokesman Shakiru Amodu, are at the scene, working to rescue those trapped.

Other responding agencies include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, and the Nigeria Police.

The building was at one storey level and under construction before it collapsed.

The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, with investigations currently underway.

Recently, a three-storey building collapsed in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State, killing two people and injuring 23 others.

In another incident, five people were rescued after a building collapsed in Lagos, with search and rescue operations still ongoing.
