Nigeria: Boko Haram kills 27 in Adamawa communities attack

A deadly attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State has left at least 27 people dead, with several structures burned. The attack on Shuwari Sholi community occurred early Wednesday, targeting villagers at the market square.

Among the dead is the village head, Bademi Papka, a cousin of Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri. An eyewitness said the attackers arrived on motorcycles, firing sporadically, and fled after several hours.

In a separate incident, gunmen abducted six worshippers from a Celestial Church in Uso, Ondo State, during an early morning service. One victim has been  rescued, and a suspected informant arrested.

In Ilu Abo, Akure North Local Government Area, a couple abducted four days ago was released after a N5 million ransom was paid.

The police have launched investigations and security operations to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
