Calvin Bassey’s recent standout performance in Fulham’s FA Cup win against Manchester United at Old Trafford has reignited memories of other Nigerian players who have shone at the iconic stadium. In this piece, we delve into the performances of some Nigerian stars who have left a mark at Old Trafford.

Calvin Bassey, with his brace against Manchester United that included a crucial goal in the FA Cup, has firmly etched his name in the history books of the Theatre of Dreams. The 25-year-old’s heroics against the Red Devils added to his impressive record at Old Trafford, where he previously scored against United during Fulham’s victory last season.

Another Nigerian player who left a lasting impression at Old Trafford is Cyriel Dessers, who scored a stunning goal for Rangers in a Europa League clash against Manchester United. The forward’s goal, which was voted as the Goal of The Month for January, showcased his skill and talent on the big stage.

Francis Uzoho, Nigeria’s top-choice goalkeeper, also had a memorable performance at Old Trafford when Omonia Nicosia faced Manchester United in the Europa League.
