Nigeria: APC leader killed in late-night attack in Benue

Tragedy struck in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State as Ejeh Udeh, a prominent politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was shot dead by gunmen at his residence in Ugboju.

The attack happened late Sunday night as he returned home during heavy rainfall. Witnesses said the assailants arrived on motorbikes and shot him at close range. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

Local Government Chairman, Maxwell Ogiri, described the killing as a devastating blow to the community, noting that Udeh was not only a political figure but also a respected community leader. He assured residents that security agencies have been mobilized to track down the perpetrators.

The incident has heightened tension in the area, with residents mourning the loss and calling for swift justice.
