Nigeria: Abia State Police apprehends four suspects

The Abia State Police Command has apprehended four suspects in connection with criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. The suspects, identified as Jerry Chisom, Tochukwu Ugula, Chinonso Nwankwo, and Kingsley Onyekeba, were arrested at a criminal hideout along the Uturu/Isuikwuato area.
The police received a report on July 18 2025, about a group of suspected armed robbers terrorizing students of Abia State University, Uturu, and other residents.
Officers from the Uturu Divisional Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer, successfully traced the hideout and apprehended the suspects.
Recovered items include a locally made pistol, a knife, an iPhone 7 Plus, an Infinix phone, and a laptop.
The police are conducting an ongoing investigation to apprehend other fleeing accomplices.
The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has urged residents to partner with the police and report any suspicious activity.
The command has identified and dismantled other criminal camps in the area to rid it of criminal elements and their activities.
The police are working to ensure the safety and security of the community.
